Veterinary Assistant

Pewaukee Veterinary Service is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our busy 9 Doctor Practice. The Veterinary Assistant is a key member of the hospital team who supports the Veterinary and Technical Team.

While under the supervision of the Hospital Manager and the Technician Manager, the VA must be able to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
• Ensuring the safety of our patients by providing a clean and safe working environment in the surgical suites, treatment areas, exam rooms and kennels
• Working with the team to maintain a steady workflow for patients
• Communication with the veterinarian and other technical team members
• Setting up for procedures to be performed by a veterinarian

• 1+ years of prior experience is preferred but not required
• Animal handling experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Reliable, positive attitude, flexible and approachable
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

We are actively seeking to expand our Technical Services Team with an enthusiastic Veterinary Technician or Certified Veterinary Technician who truly loves their job in veterinary medicine. Having an associate degree in veterinary technology/graduate of a veterinary technician/technology program, as well as at least two (2) years experience working in the role of Veterinary Technician at an emergency/referral/specialty veterinary hospital, or a general practice small animal veterinary hospital, is required for consideration for this position.
